Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

These terms govern your use of CheckMyBloods. We have tried to keep them clear and readable rather than burying things in legal jargon. If anything is unclear, please get in touch.

1. Introduction

CheckMyBloods is a health data platform that helps you upload, store, and analyse blood test results, track health metrics, and receive AI-powered health insights. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and CheckMyBloods.

By creating an account or using any part of the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

To use CheckMyBloods, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16, you may not create an account or use the service.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information when registering, including your name, email address, and any profile details such as date of birth and gender (these help us personalise reference ranges and analysis).
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate accounts if we reasonably believe the information provided is inaccurate or the user does not meet the eligibility requirements.

3. Your Account

When you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure. Choose a strong password and do not share it with anyone. If you use a passkey, keep your device secure.
  • All activity under your account. You are responsible for anything that happens through your account, whether or not you authorised it.
  • Notifying us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account or any security breach.

Each person should maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or for any other purpose is not permitted.

4. What We Provide

CheckMyBloods provides a platform to:

  • Upload, store, and organise blood test results and medical documents
  • Automatically extract biomarker data from uploaded files using OCR and AI
  • Track biomarker trends over time with charts and analysis
  • Record health metrics, symptoms, medications, and other health data
  • Chat with an AI health assistant for educational health insights
  • Export your data for personal use or to share with your healthcare provider

Important: CheckMyBloods is not a medical service.

We do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment. Nothing on this platform should be interpreted as a substitute for professional healthcare. For full details, please read our Medical Disclaimer.

5. Your Data

You own your data. Any blood test results, health records, documents, or other personal information you upload to CheckMyBloods remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your content.

By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and analyse your uploaded data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This includes:

  • Extracting text and biomarker data from your uploaded files
  • Sending relevant data to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate analysis and insights
  • Storing your data securely so you can access it across sessions

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal health data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. For full details on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy & Security page.

You can export or delete your data at any time through your account settings. When you delete data, it is permanently removed from our systems.

6. Acceptable Use

We want CheckMyBloods to be a safe and useful platform for everyone. When using the service, you agree not to:

  • Upload content that is not yours — Only upload your own blood test results, medical documents, and health data. Do not upload another person’s medical information without their explicit consent.
  • Attempt to access other users’ data — Do not try to view, modify, or obtain any data belonging to other users through any means, including exploiting security vulnerabilities.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the platform — Do not attempt to extract source code, use automated tools to scrape content, or copy substantial portions of the service.
  • Interfere with the service — Do not upload malicious files, attempt denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise try to disrupt the platform’s operation.
  • Use the service for illegal purposes — Do not use CheckMyBloods in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Misrepresent your identity — Do not impersonate another person or provide false information in your account profile.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

7. AI-Generated Content

CheckMyBloods uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic’s Claude) to extract data from uploads, analyse biomarker results, detect trends, and provide conversational health insights through our AI health assistant.

All AI-generated content on this platform is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and it may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.

You should be aware that:

  • AI analysis may be incorrect. Large language models can produce plausible-sounding information that is factually wrong or misleading.
  • Extracted data (via OCR or AI vision) may misread values, units, or biomarker names from your documents. Always verify against your originals.
  • The AI health assistant is a fictional character, not a real doctor. There is no doctor-patient relationship.
  • Reference ranges and status flags are general approximations. Your doctor may use different reference ranges specific to your circumstances.
  • AI output should never replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making health decisions.

We are not liable for any decisions you make, or any outcomes that arise, based on AI-generated content on this platform.

8. Intellectual Property

The CheckMyBloods platform — including its design, code, branding, logos, text, graphics, and all other content created by us — is owned by CheckMyBloods and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

This does not affect your ownership of data you upload. As stated in Section 5, your health data, blood test results, and personal information remain yours at all times.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep CheckMyBloods available and running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Specifically:

  • The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control.
  • We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the platform at any time. Where changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice.
  • CheckMyBloods is currently offered as a free service. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or change the pricing model in the future, with advance notice to existing users.

We recommend keeping local copies of any important health data. You can export your data at any time using the built-in export tools.

10. Limitation of Liability

CheckMyBloods is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckMyBloods and its developers shall not be liable for:

  • Any health decisions or medical outcomes arising from your use of the platform or reliance on AI-generated analysis
  • Loss of data beyond the reasonable technical measures we have in place to protect it
  • Actions, errors, or outages caused by third-party services (including AI providers, hosting services, and payment processors)
  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind

Our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service shall be limited to the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. As the service is currently free, this amount is zero.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Termination

You can leave at any time. You may delete your account through your account settings. Upon deletion, all your data — including blood test results, health records, chat history, and uploaded documents — will be permanently removed from our systems.

We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account, as this action cannot be undone.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to:

  • Uploading content that belongs to others without consent
  • Attempting to access other users’ data or exploit security vulnerabilities
  • Using the service for illegal purposes
  • Any other conduct that we reasonably determine to be harmful to the platform or its users

Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data before termination, unless the violation is severe or poses a security risk.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, legal requirements, or best practices. When we do:

  • The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
  • For material changes (such as changes to liability terms, data handling, or user rights), we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform.
  • Your continued use of CheckMyBloods after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the service and delete your account.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Contact

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about these Terms of Service, we would like to hear from you. Please reach out via our Contact page.
